Huss Hassan wins the fifth running of the Main Event and takes home $100,000 in cash and prizes, including tickets to next year’s Aussie Millions and Main Event VI.
It was a thrilling few days at the Crown Casino Poker Room as 425 players from across the nation battled it out for a whopping $425,000 in cash and prizes.
The Main Event V was a special weekend for players from 888 Poker League, Australian Poker League and Pub Poker. Good friends from across the nation had the opportunity to catch up and many new friendships were formed all thanks to the fun times on offer at Crown.
The Saturday night Player Party was an eventful evening as Groove Bar hosted an exciting night full of fun and dancing, with Battlestar Acoustica and Boom Box both putting on a show for all in attendance!
All fun and social events aside, however, there was poker to be played and with the bubble bursting on Saturday evening every player on the final day was guaranteed some cash! There was a good mix of guys and girls on the final day and all the states were well represented!
However, it was the sheer numbers of New South Wales players that increased the likelihood of the title returning back over the border. In the end it was Victorian Matt Kozole, who won the event last year, presenting New South Wales’ Huss Hassan with the Main Event V bracelet. Huss scored over $100,000 in cash and .

The final table took just over two hours to crown a winner and it was New South Wales Huss Hassan who edged out Western Australia’s Rory Cumins to take down Main Event V. Huss was honoured to receive his trophy from last year’s winner Matt Kozole!
